There are achievements, and then there are Master Level achievements. Two days ago, I had the great honor and opportunity to not only introduce my boys to the greatest pop boy-band of the 90s, but fulfill my wife’s 30-year unrealized, teenage dream of seeing the actual Backstreet Boys, live, in concert. And I did it all wearing dad shorts, a white Hawaiian-style, short-sleeved shirt with Star-Wars rebel alliance ships (including, of course, X-wings and the Millennium Falcon), and to top off my ensemble, a brand new Diet-Coke baseball cap. The view and experience was mind-blowing, even in the absolute last row of the Sphere venue, and the Backstreet Boys were humble, gracious, and put on the best concert I can honestly say I’ve ever seen.
Did I unconsciously strike my best middle-aged dad pose?
Yes. Yes I did.
